This in-depth schooling course, the third in a sequence that began with the study of light and dark through drawing and continued in an exploration of colour based in Goethe and Steiner’s colour theories, is directed at anyone seeking creative expression in their lives!

If you are interested in working with art as a transformative activity in the world, this program is fundamental for developing art skills and experiencing their effect on the creative journey.

During this weeklong course we will explore the fundamental principles of clay sculpture. In a personal journey, as well as through the study of metamorphosis (the lawfulness in transformation), we will experience the place that clay-modelling holds and can accomplish.

Activities throughout the week include:

  • sculpting and modelling with clay. Processes (exercises) requiring students to develop

  • skills of working with the three dimensional space in basic sculptural elements. Convex,

  • concave, plane, double bend. Explorations into the modelling of platonic solids and their

  • metamorphosis from one to another. Developing free sculptural forms out of a personal

  • seven-step journey into a biographical theme. Setting up an exhibition of clay sculptures

  • that demonstrates a path of personal development that took place throughout the course.
